Initial Security Acquires OCS Security in NY/Tri-State Region

Initial Security (, considered to be the fifth largest security company in North America, has acquired OCS Security (, a leading security company in the New York/tri-state region that was founded in 1970 by former NYC Detective Sergeant Jack O'Connor, who serves as president of OCS.

"OCS Security's brand is synonymous with quality and its high-touch care is evident by its impressive client roster that includes the American Stock Exchange, ABC, CBS, Federal Express, Macy's, RFR Management and many other diverse and impressive clients."

"Like OCS Security, Initial Security has many long-term clients and employees who have become an extended family to us," added Dorn. "Today, companies outsource their security programs to avoid the distraction of managing business activities outside their core competencies. According to O'Connor, OCS currently employs 1,500, and he says that as part of the acquisition, OCS will be retaining the company's security officers, key management and clients into the combined company.

As part of the acquisition, Michael McCann, the former head of security for the United Nations who previously joined OCS Security to lead the company's Executive Protection & Technical Services division, will be spinning off the protective services division of OCS as its own company, to be called McCann Protective Services. McCann's company will be headquartered at the OCS/Initial Security offices on Madison Avenue in New York.
