Law enforcement agency to implement full biometrics scan of hand using systems from Identix

Identix, a provider of multi-biometrics security technology company, announced that it has received new purchase orders from law enforcement agencies in an unnamed State for multiple units of its TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3800 Full-Hand Live Scan Systems.

Identix said the live scan systems under these purchase orders, which are valued in excess of $700,000, will be deployed to upgrade and expand the existing law enforcement live scan network throughout the State. Systems under the current purchase orders are expected to ship and be installed in the company's fiscal 2005 fourth quarter and fiscal 2006 first quarter, ending June 30, 2005 and September 30, 2005, respectively.

"The number of States and other government entities, both domestic and international, recognizing the benefits of the superior image quality provided by Identix live scan systems continues to grow," said Identix President & CEO Dr. Joseph J. Atick. "We are also seeing more and more law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. looking to gather as much information as possible from suspects, which is driving solid sales of our industry leading full hand systems."
