Christopher Berry steps up to new leadership position for security at Henry Schein

MELVILLE, N.Y. - Henry Schein, Inc., the largest distributor of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets, today announced the appointment of Christopher Berry as Vice President of Global Security and Safety. Berry has served as a security professional for more than 25 years, the last 15 of which were spent at Henry Schein.

In his role, Berry oversees all security and safety efforts at Henry Schein's nearly 300 facilities in 19 countries. This includes the Company’s network of distribution, corporate and sales centers, which serve more than 475,000 customers worldwide, including dental clinics and laboratories, physician practices, veterinary clinics, government and other institutions providing healthcare services.

Berry began his career as a security professional for a New York-based retail chain, where he quickly proved himself and assumed positions of increasing responsibility. He joined Henry Schein in 1990 as Manager of the Company’s security operations, and helped develop the department to encompass all aspects of employee safety and security planning, including: physical security; due diligence investigations; pre-employment screenings; safety and emergency response planning; and other numerous activities.

Berry holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from St. John's University and is a member of the American Society for International Security (ASIS).
