P&R Fire & Security creates PTZ dome system for London-based dealership chain

London - Reg Vardy is extensively investing in JVC TK-C655EB high resolution PTZ dome cameras and TK-C920E(A) static cameras in an ongoing maintenance contract awarded to security and fire specialists, P&R Fire & Security. The first installation of the JVC cameras was at Reg Vardy Renault, in Doncaster, and the Group has since installed JVC cameras in six to seven of its other showrooms across the UK with further sites planned for future installation.

The JVC cameras are successfully used 24 hours a day for security surveillance and have been proven to be an effective management tool. This was a key requirement of the security system for Reg Vardy. The Renault site in Doncaster receives hundreds of customers a week and has been running for 8 years. The site employs 81 staff and overall in excess of 6,000 colleagues are employed by Reg Vardy.

"As specialists in the motor retail market, we suggested that Reg Vardy used the reliable and durable JVC cameras which have a minimal failure rate. JVC are a good quality brand and provide excellent product support to ourselves and our customers. Luckily we have a healthy two-way relationship between JVC and our customers. On realising that Reg Vardy were looking for a strong security partner Yash Patel of JVC immediately made contact with Derek Parry in Group Strategic Purchasing to suggest a tailored reliable security solution - this attention to detail really makes JVC stand out from other manufacturers. With JVC we are in safe hands" comments Andy Bromley, Director of P&R Fire and Security.

Integral to the security and safety of each site, the JVC cameras are installed to face into each site compound, forecourt and showroom. They are all housed externally and positioned on D-mountable towers and corner brackets. Alarm presets are responsive to external detection along with passive and active infrared beams linked to the P&R Fire & Security CAT II Monitoring Station in Oldham. All security images are digitally recorded.

"Since the initial installation at Reg Vardy Renault, in Doncaster, the cameras are proving to be very reliable and we are very pleased with the high standard of installation which meets the BS8418 security standard.

They are extremely cost-effective," adds Andy Bromley.

The TK-C655EB dome camera has 360 degrees endless rotation, 25x zoom and is Day/Night IR sensitive for 24 hour surveillance. It is easy to install and features Super LoLux sensitivity, extended dynamic range, motion detection, privacy masking, 100 preset positions as well as automatic pan/trace/patrol.

The TK-C920E(A) camera is a high resolution colour/monochrome camera with Super LoLux sensitivity and comes with automatic electronic shutter (AES), automatic gain control (AGC), auto tracking white balance (ATW) and back light compensation. Both cameras have 540 lines of horizontal resolution producing outstanding image quality.

Yash Patel, Executive Director, CCTV Europe of JVC Professional Europe Ltd comments, "Reg Vardy has a sophisticated security system. We are pleased to work on this exciting installation project with P&R Fire & Security. The JVC cameras are able to provide the company high quality images and reliability. The cost of ownership to the client in the long term is significantly reduced."
