NAPT program encourages assessments of critical vulnerabilities

The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has organized a school transportation security assessment program with the goal of preparing bus companies and school district to fully assess their transportation operations.

The NAPT has created a four-hour program focused on assessments of facilities, vehicles, policies, communications, staff and community planning. The free program addresses best practices in school transportation and details the use of the NAPT-developed School Bus Security Assessment. The program also addresses issues of working with local first responders.

A 50-page educational booklet is provided at no charge to participants.

Details on the program are available online at the NAPT website.
