According to the DoD., Walton Construction Co. L.L.C., Harahan, La., was awarded on Sept. 8, 2004, a $29,049,300 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of an aviation maintenance hangar. Work will be performed at Fort Polk, La., and is expected to be completed by November 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 350 bids solicited on March 22, 2004, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas, is the contracting activity (W9126G-04-C-0030).
