Collett to attend first board meeting on eve of ISC West

Las Vegas (ISC WEST, Sony Booth # 22025) March 26, 2012 – Mark Collett, General Manager of Sony Electronics' Security Systems Division has accepted the invitation to join the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Board of Directors.

Collett's background in developing standards for Ethernet as well as network and system management, plus broad experience in the IT industry provides an invaluable perspective and experience to the board.

He joined Sony Electronics in August 2010, charged with spearheading the Security Systems Division's transition from a product-centric focus to that of a total solutions provider, redefining the group's go-to-market strategy to deliver critical business solutions for a range of vertical markets. Collett's 20-plus years of industry experience, most recently as managing principal and business strategist for IBM's Digital Video Surveillance business, where he defined and lead its partnering strategy, make him uniquely suited to guiding the Security Systems Division through today's dynamic business climate.

"This is a tremendous honor, and I am excited to serve alongside many of our industry's leaders," said Collett. "This is a period of rapid change in the security business, and SIA's efforts are now more important than ever as we chart a course through uncertainty to opportunity."

"During Mark's tenure at Sony, he has demonstrated leadership in developing relationships with leading security innovators and technology developer said," Don Erickson, CEO of the Security Industry Association. "We look forward to his participation on the Security Industry Association's Board of Directors."

Collett will attend his first meeting of the Board at the session scheduled on March 27, on the eve of the opening of the ISC West show.
