NICE integrates early warning capabilities of NC4 Risk Center into NICE Situator

Industry leaders collaborate on solutions to help organizations improve situational awareness

RA'ANANA, ISRAEL, March 28, 2012, NICE today announced that it has developed a solution that integrates NICE's industry-leading open Situation Management solution, NICE Situator, with the NC4 Risk Center service. The solution enhances the situational awareness picture in NICE Situator by leveraging NC4's early incident warning capabilities to alert command and control centers to relevant threats and situations.

NICE Situator receives early warning information from the NC4 Risk Center. Such information includes warnings about incidents such as terror attacks, fires, hazardous materials spills, and extreme weather events, which triggers alerts and launches Situator's adaptive response plans. For example, a tsunami alert could automatically initiate operational procedures to ensure that ships, personnel and equipment were moved to safer locations. Likewise, notification of coordinated terrorist attacks could launch heightened airport security procedures.

NC4 has also leveraged the NICE Situator's open API to complete a second integration to its E•SPONDER Express solution. A NIMS/ICS accredited collaboration tool, E•SPONDER Express is used by first responders, security and operations teams to track and manage incident information and response efforts during emergencies. The integration allows incident information from the E•SPONDER Express to be passed to NICE Situator on a real-time basis, where it is then merged, analyzed and correlated with data from other sensor, security and operational systems to form a common operational picture.

"We're excited to partner with NC4 on these integrations," said Guy Yaniv, General Manager, Surveillance Solutions, Security Group, at NICE. "It once again demonstrates the openness of NICE Situator, which enables security and safety operations to maximize overall awareness and performance, by analyzing and correlating key physical and data sources, and providing the right information, at the right time, to the right decision-maker."

"Organizations face greater challenges than ever before from both natural disasters and man-made threats," said Jim Montagnino, CEO & President of NC4. "The synergy of NICE and NC4 addresses these threats by combining NC4's delivery of real-time intelligence with Situator's powerful correlation, analysis and response capabilities."

The NICE Security Offering addresses the needs of governments and enterprises with intent-based solutions for fighting crime and terror, by anticipating, managing and mitigating safety, security and operational risks. The solution enables capture, analysis and correlation of data from multiple sensors and systems, including audio, video, radio, geo-location and web, providing a framework for fusing data silos into a single, holistic operational view. NICE Security solutions empower organizations to act effectively in real time to prevent, manage and investigate incidents, ensuring fast resolution and debriefing, and continuous security improvements. NICE Security solutions are deployed worldwide in transportation systems, critical infrastructures, city centers and enterprise campuses.
