Solution provides organizations access to video surveillance systems from any Internet-enabled device

LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 24, 2012 – Honeywell’s MAXPRO Cloud was named the top product in the Commercial and Monitoring Solutions category in the 2012 New Product Showcase Awards program, which is sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA).

MAXPRO Cloud is Honeywell’s hosted-video service that gives organizations access to their video surveillance anywhere there is an Internet connection. The system also is designed to simplify the process for organizations to transition from analog to digital video by eliminating the need for IT expertise or challenging firewall configurations. It is ideal for retail outlets, multi-location franchises, restaurants, small businesses and commercial offices, as well as warehouses and storage facilities.

“Receiving this award affirms that cloud-based services like MAXPRO Cloud represent the new reality in every industry,” said Scott Harkins, president of Honeywell Security Products-Americas. “Small-to-mid-size businesses especially stand to benefit because these services simplify operations and reduce costs. Any business, no matter what the size, need data to be accessible at all times. MAXPRO Cloud meets that demand by providing access to video anytime, anywhere.”

The annual New Product Showcase Awards program recognizes innovative products, services and solutions in electronic physical security. The program winners are announced each year at the ISC West tradeshow.

MAXPRO Cloud allows users to connect legacy analog cameras to the cloud and add new, higher-definition IP cameras as needs change. The system also simplifies operations by providing a single login that allows organizations to more easily manage multiple locations, and by automatically updating with new features as they become available.

The system can notify end users via email if an alarm or event occurs from true motion detection; from an input point such as glassbreak, motion sensor, or contacts; or during arming or disarming. The end user can then log into any web-connected device and view the video alarm. MAXPRO Cloud can also proactively monitor the performance of a system to ensure uptime, allowing a dealer to react quickly if they receive notification that a camera has lost power or the local device has stopped recording video.

MAXPRO Cloud is an excellent example of leading edge technology that allows security providers to take full control of the monitoring of customers' properties and also permits end users to have control of their systems. “The idea of having video storage recorded into the cloud—thereby eliminating the worry of hard drive failure, the cost of service calls, and having hard drives on site—is truly a benefit to our organization,” said Roger Barnes, president, Roger’s Security. “Another positive note is the provision of flash updates as new features are rolled out. We find there is no better partner than Honeywell to help us maintain our goal of offering cutting edge technology. We are very excited about this product and look forward to introducing it to our customers.”
