Joliet Slammers utilize Axis camera and Ustream

(Joliet, IL) – The defending Frontier League champion Joliet Slammers are proud to announce that every home game in 2012 will have a video feed available live on Ustream thanks to the team’s new partnership with Axis Communications.

"We are excited to give fans the chance to check out the action at Silver Cross Field even when they can’t make it to the game," Slammers Director of Marketing and Public Relations Sarah H. Eichenberger said. "This partnership gives us a video component that very few teams in the league can offer."

The Slammers will utilize an HDTV IP camera with 18x zoom provided by Axis Communications, the world’s leading provider of surveillance cameras, to live stream and record each of their home games on their Ustream channel from above home plate. All games will be archived online for fans to check out any time. The video stream will be accompanied by audio from the Slammers radio broadcast on AM 1340 WJOL.

"Technology innovation in IP surveillance cameras has come quite a long way and, with today’s Internet bandwidth speeds, today’s network video solutions provides a way for athletic teams, musicians, universities and K-12 schools to connect with their fans, family and alumni," said Rob Muehlbauer, business development manager, Axis Communications, Inc. "Our high quality AXIS P5534 PTZ Dome HDTV camera integrated with audio provides a simple yet robust Internet broadcasting tool so Joliet’s fans and extended family can watch their team march toward another Frontier League Championship."

"We're excited to have the Slammers utilizing the Axis IP camera integration and Scoreboard features available in our Ustream Producer Studio software,” said Andy Francis, technical operations manager, "Together, these tools create a simple solution for engaging fans and extending brand reach through Ustream's global audience of over 50 million unique monthly users."
