GLOBAL RELEASE - October 3, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, and the Atlanta Police Foundation will be presenting the ‘Operation Shield’ video integration initiative, one of the largest public/private camera integration projects in the US, at the Secured Cities conference in Philadelphia October 10-11, 2012.

The Operation Shield initiative was developed through one of the nation’s strongest public and private sector partnerships established by the Atlanta Police Foundation. Utilizing next generation technology, including PSIM technology, Operation Shield has created a citywide surveillance system protecting more than 5.2 Million people and 35 Million visitors to the City of Atlanta.

“Operation Shield is unique in that it uses a scalable platform to pull video feeds from established privately owned cameras as well as city-owned cameras, making it one of the most robust systems in the nation,” explains Grant Hawkins, VP of Programs & Strategic Projects at Atlanta Police Foundation. “This ever-expanding video surveillance network provides the Atlanta Police Department and the City with 24/7 real-time information feeds as well as improved levels of emergency preparedness, crime prevention and emergency response capabilities.”

“PSIM is not just about the integration of control centers, technology, equipment and resources; more than that, it is also about bringing together multiple agencies such as law enforcement, government, emergency services, utilities, transportation, education and homeland security, each with their own security systems and operating procedures,” explains Matthew Kushner, President - CNL Americas. “The case study we are presenting demonstrates how PSIM has helped to bridge the public/private security gap to create unified command centers and joint response plans; providing real-time situation awareness and improved incident management which has enabled the City of Atlanta to realize the full potential of its security investment.”

The Operation Shield breakout session will be held at the Secured Cities Conference on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 8:45AM - 9:45AM in Room: 109B
