Combination of robust threat profiling services and mobile app protection fortify compliance-critical deployments

SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, 2013 – Neohapsis, the trusted provider of mobile and cloud security services, and enterprise mobile security leader Mocana today announced a new partnership to help corporations rapidly identify and mitigate app security risks in global mobility deployments. Under the terms of the agreement, Neohapsis will combine Mocana’s patent-pending Mobile App Protection™ (MAP™) solution, which accelerates mobility deployments by automating app security, with Neohapsis’ mobile app assessment, threat profiling, code analysis and secure development lifecycle (SDLC) reviews. The combined offering measurably enhances mobile security at enterprises worldwide through industrial-grade FIPS 140-2 encryption, VPN and other top-tier security capabilities, all of which can be deployed seamlessly.

The Neohapsis approach to achieving compliance with mobile app deployments currently benefits more than 100 global enterprises, including complex requirements involving Payment Card Industry (PCI), HIPAA-HITECH and DIACAP. The company also helps organizations implement numerous best practice frameworks, such as ISO 27001/27002, assess audit readiness, and manage remediation. Neohapsis is a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), Payment Application Qualified Security Assessor (PA-DSS QSA), and Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV).

Mocana’s MAP offering will be combined with Neohapsis offerings through usage and security policies built into Apple iOS and Google Android mobile apps. The MAP solution cuts the development work required per app from weeks to just a few seconds. Once wrapped, the corporate data residing within the apps is protected regardless of where it travels. The MAP layer is largely invisible to end users, who can continue to work exactly as they did before MAP was applied. At the same time, Neohapsis customers can work with MAP to customize policies around authentication, FIPS 140-2 encryption, and per-app VPN, ensuring lifecycle data security through every kind of use and situation.

"Our aim at Neohapsis is to enable enterprises to take advantage of the opportunities presented by emerging technologies such as cloud and mobile while efficiently and effectively managing security and regulatory issues," said James Mobley, president & CEO, Neohapsis. "Addressing these complex challenges directly impacts business performance via improved risk reduction, cost savings and compliance." Mobley continued: "Combining the Mocana MAP solution with our portfolio of proven services, allows us to provide customers with a higher level of protection for every app, regardless of where they're developed and used. This is the kind of security, flexibility and ease of deployment organizations need as emerging technologies become increasingly integrated into the enterprise architecture."

Neohapsis has also joined Mocana’s new MAP Developers’ Program, which was unveiled at the RSA Conference in March. The program offers free tools, technical support and co-marketing opportunities for developers building mobile apps for security-conscious enterprise customers. Neohapsis’ own iOS and Android apps will display the “MAP-READY” logo to highlight those that have been tested and ready to secure with Mocana MAP.

“By combining Neohapsis’ unmatched service portfolio with the Mocana MAP solution, global enterprises can benefit from a greatly enhanced level of security and ease of deployment, said Adrian Turner, CEO of Mocana. “This is the best way to manage the complex issues associated with managing security, risk and compliance, and we’re privileged to partner with Neohapsis in taking this offering to market.”
