Entrance control in new headquarters of automaker provided by Smarter Security

Austin, Texas – August 21, 2013 – Smarter Security, Inc., provider of premium, innovative entrance control and outdoor security solutions, today announced that a large foreign automaker recently ordered Fastlane Glassgate 250 optical turnstiles for its new U.S. headquarters building. The combination of technology and design met the security needs of the customer and the aesthetic requirements of the top ten architecture firm that designed the bold, modern building. The order is the second largest of the year for Smarter Security.

“When architects get involved in the decisions about lobby security, Fastlane almost always wins out because our optical turnstiles are the design standard,” said Jeff Brown, CEO of Smarter Security. “We are pleased to win such a large order and to have a role in the security of this unique new building. We are also happy to see that all the work that went into the UL 2593 certification for Glassgate 250 provided a benefit for this customer.”

The new headquarters building has multiple lobby entrances to allow convenient passages for thousands of workers daily. Fastlane Glassgate 250 turnstiles from Smarter Security will be placed in each entrance resulting in a total order of fourteen lanes. The architect initially recommended Glassgate 250 turnstiles because the aesthetics would best complement the sleek, futuristic styling of the building’s ground level. The tailgate detection capability and speed of throughput allowed are Fastlane performance advantages that helped Smarter Security prevail over the competition. Glassgate 250’s UL 2593 listing also enabled the customer to easily pass fire code that required UL certification.

Smarter Security’s Fastlane Glassgate 250 is an electronic turnstile with pedestal-height glass barriers that swing open in the direction of the user’s travel and open flush with the sides of the pedestals. With proper authorization, the barriers move quickly and stay open to allow entry by successive authorized users at a rate of up to 60 people per minute. Audible and visual alarms will alert building security to tailgating behind users and to any unauthorized entry, including by crawling. Glassgate 250 was not only the first, but also remains one of the few optical turnstiles in the industry to be certified under UL 2593, a newer UL standard for Motor Driven Turnstile Operators & Systems.
