27 August 2014 -- Blake Smith, Technical Account Manager for Gallagher's U.S. security division has received General Services Administration (GSA) approved accreditation for Identity, Credential, and Access Management for Physical Access Control Systems (ICAM PACS) with the Smart Card Alliance.
Gallagher - established leader in integrated access control, intruder alarms management, and perimeter protection technology - is on the U.S. Government's Approved Product Listing for its comprehensive security platform.
Blake provides technical and installation support for Gallagher's Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201-2 GSA-approved Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Solution. He is currently listed among one of only nine active Certified System Engineers ICAM PACS (CSEIP) in the country.
This GSA-approved program ensures that procurements of approved Enterprise Physical Access Control Systems (E-PACS) for GSA managed facilities are installed, configured, and tested properly. Blake's accreditation enables Gallagher to submit bids for future GSA PACS projects - it is a requirement that any bids submitted for these programs must include the support of CSEIP certified engineers.
The CSEIP program provides advanced training for system engineers on developing and testing E-PACS to align with government-wide specifications. It includes best practice and learning objectives for managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Biometrics, Smart Card Credentials, and trusted E-PACS.
"Receiving approval for our FIPS 201-2 solution demonstrates how committed Gallagher is to producing innovative, globally compliant systems," explained Blake Smith. "We deliver cost effective technology, with simple architecture that compliments both our federal and commercial customers', requirements for superior security, information technology infrastructure, and business practices".
"The GSA's required Smart Card Alliance CSEIP training course adds a new level of confidence and value to GSA customers and helps to ensure the protection of people, assets, and information, in compliance with Federal Governments requirements and mandates".
