LCD monitor viewer receives the IoT Evolution Award for Product of the Year

BERLIN, CONN, August 25, 2016 – Yale Locks & Hardware has announced that its Yale Real Living Look Door Viewer received a 2016 IoT Evolution of the Year Award, a program that honors the best in Internet of Things technology. The award is presented by IoT Evolution magazine and IoT Evolution World.

The Look Door Viewer replaces the traditional doorbell and peephole with a 4.3-inch LCD monitor, and offers Wi-Fi connectivity that allows two-way live video communication using a smartphone running the free Yale Look companion app. A photo is automatically taken when a visitor pushes the built-in doorbell, and homeowners can choose a photo or live video to be displayed on the monitor. In addition, a motion sensor can be set to send an alert to a smartphone when motion is detected and automatically snap a photo when someone comes within three to six feet. Photos and videos are stored with time stamps on the viewer and the app. A Z-Wave version of the Look Door Viewer allows homeowners with a Z-Wave home automation network to receive alerts through the network’s app. The alerts include low battery warning, tamper alarm, doorbell and motion detection.

“Yale is honored to have been recognized by IoT Evolution magazine for our innovative door viewer that make it possible to see who came to the door, whether you’re home or not,” said Jason Williams, General Manager, Yale Residential.

“The solutions selected for the IoT Evolution Product of Year Award reflect the diverse range of innovation driving the machine to machine market today. It is my honor to congratulate Yale for their innovative work and superior contribution to the rapidly evolving IoT industry,” said Carl Ford, CEO of Crossfire Media, a co-publisher of IoT Evolution.

“It is my pleasure to recognize the Yale Real Living Look Door Viewer, an innovative solution that earned Yale the 2016 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I look forward to seeing more innovation from Yale in the future.”
