'Save the date' for Mission 500 annual softball game announced

July 25, 2017
Event to be held in Leonia, N.J. on September 9

Miami, FL (July 25, 2017) – Mission 500 has announced Saturday, September 9, 2017 as the date for its third annual security industry softball game fundraiser. This year’s event will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Overpeck County Park, located at 40 Fort Lee Road in Leonia, New Jersey.

“This event is so much fun and is a great opportunity for our community to help those in need,” said Jeff Eichenlaub, Director of Strategic Partnerships for Mission 500. “We are counting on the continued support and dedication of the industry to make the day a success and help us reach our goal of $75,000.”

Sponsorships are available at the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels. Platinum level sponsors each can put two players on the field while Gold and Silver sponsors are each allowed one. Player numbers will be capped at 30, with 15 players on each team.

This year’s sponsors include: Altronix, Hanwha Techwin America, ISC West, StarLink, Axis, Milestone, Security Systems News, Ken Gould Consulting, Dahua USA, LRG Marketing Communications, ADI, Commercial Architecture, FST Biometrics, Galaxy Control Systems, Pelco, ScanSource, SD&I, Security Sales & Integration and Security Today.

Those who are unable to attend the event, but would still like to donate, can do so by visiting here.

Mission 500 will be hosting a Back to School Care Pack event at the game with a goal of assembling 200 book bags filled with school supplies. Every $27 donated fills one backpack for donation to local children in need.

In 2016, individuals from 22 companies and their children participated in a very competitive game, which ended in a tie after the seventh inning due to rain.

“Axis Communications is proud to support Mission500 through a variety of initiatives,” said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications, Inc. “The upcoming softball game is a great way for the entire industry to come together to support a great cause and help children and families in need.”

In addition to participating in and raising money for these and other Mission 500 events, security industry professionals can support Mission 500 in a variety of ways, including volunteering to help with the Security 5K/2K at ISC West or making financial donations. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made with major credit cards and American Express loyalty points.
