Solution offers reliable path to IP with no licensing fees

Amityville, NY — January 17, 2012 — Today, Speco Technologies announced immediate availability of the new PS DVR, the fifth release in Speco's new S-Series line of DVRs. The PS is ideal for a wide range of applications and offers a simple and cost effective migration strategy to IP.

Optimized for full HD surveillance, the PS bridges the technological division by delivering hybrid IP and analog capabilities in one DVR. A complete suite of EZ networking applications and mobile platforms make it easy to control any situation from any location. The PS delivers enhanced recording performance which provides greater flexibility in camera configuration, and delivers vivid images with a higher resolution. The PS feature rich performance and extensive storage options, the PS offers a great solution for professional market security applications. The PS provide eSata and iSCSI ports for installation when additional storage is required to keep video longer or to enhance the data reliability. The eSata interface can be used to setup DAS (direct attached storage) which is cost efficient solution for small to medium installations.

The PS is a multi channel hybrid H.264 DVR with Digital Deterrent™ and CIF real-time recording that coordinates with Date/Time, Calendar, Event, Motion/Museum and Text-in search. The PS includes Mac & PC compatibility software and can send text message alerts of system activity and status. This unit is remote upgradeable, which allows installers to keep customers current with the latest features and updates from Speco, without the cost of a service call.

The PS DVR is available in 24 & 32 channels with hard drive storage capacity ranging from 500GB to 6TB and offers a 3 year warranty. The unit can be remotely viewed on iPhone, Blackberry or Android, with free iPhone app available from iTunes.

The PS DVR features EZ Setup Wizards which allow an installer to open a "Wizard" to walk through simple point and click steps for a successful connection to the internet. The one click wizard guides the set up essentials of the system in a logical and easy to understand sequence. The DVR will get an IP address, DDNS name and even use UPnP to port forward the router
