Assa Abloy’s Securitron company announced the release of the (ICPT) Inductive Coupling Power Transfer, a patent-pending, wireless, contactless power transfer designed for use with electric locks, latches and other electrified hardware on the door. The power transfer switch harnesses the power of electromagnetic induction to generate power wirelessly across a door gap. The ICPT consists of two units, one in the frame and the other in the door, separated by up ¼-inch door gap. The power transfer is field selectable for 12VDC or 24VDC and up to 500mA. By delivering power wirelessly to the latch side of the door, the ICPT can eliminate the inconvenience of field coring the door, saving time and reducing costs. The ICPT protects the pathway of power to electrified door hardware by eliminating any wires or moving parts that may be vulnerable to vandalism or accidental interruption.
