New VPort model accelerates adoption of IP cameras in outdoor surveillance applications

BREA, CA, -- JULY 2, 2013 -- Moxa, a provider of hardened networking, communication and computing solutions, is helping bring the benefits of IP network video to challenging outdoor applications by expanding its industry-leading VPort(TM) camera line to include the VPort P26A-1MP-T.

"There is growing adoption of IP systems across all segments of the security industry; however there remains some resistance to mounting IP cameras outdoors due to reliability issues," said Joe Cook, Business Development Manager, Industrial Video Networking for Moxa. "We've incorporated the hardened engineering that has made Moxa a leader in industrial networking into our newest VPort camera so that customers can have complete confidence in the performance of their outdoor systems in areas with high electromagnetic interference and wide temperature conditions."

BUILT FOR DEMANDING OUTDOOR USE
Extremely rugged, the VPort P26A-1MP-T is a fixed dome HD IP camera purpose-engineered for harsh, outdoor environments. It features a wide operating range (-40°F to 167°F), high EMI/surge protection, an IK10 vandal-proof dome cover, a metal housing, and IP66-rated rain and dust protection securing its advanced networking components from environmental damage. In addition, the camera has a built-in dehumidified membrane for diffusing moisture inside the camera to prevent fogging, icing or overheating. This technology allows the camera to operate reliably and energy-efficiently without a fan or blower.

HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGING
With its megapixel resolution of 1280 x 800 at 30 fps, along with H.264/ MJPEG triple video streams and day-and-night imaging, the VPort P26A-1MP-T provides the highest quality IP surveillance imaging, replacing lower resolution traditional analog cameras.

EMI/SURGE PROTECTION
The VPort P26A-1MP-T is designed for outdoor harsh environments. The EMI/surge protection is compliant up to Level 3 criteria in EN61000-4-2 (ESD: Contact in 6KV, Air in 8KV), EN61000-4-3 (RF: 10 V/m), EN61000-4-4 (EFT, AC/DC in 2KV, I/O in 1KV), EN61000-4-5(Surge: 2KV), EN61000-4-6 (CS: 10 V/m ) , and EN61000-4-8 (PFMF: 10 A/m). With this superior EMI/surge protection, VPort P26A-1MP-T is the camera of choice to work in high electromagnetic interference and power surge environments, and includes a 5 year warranty.

BANDWIDTH PRESERVATION
Because preserving network bandwidth is a critical issue in IP deployments, the camera features Moxa's DynaStream(TM) function, which automatically changes the video frame rate to control network bandwidth budget and ease system management.

Another function, Moxa's CBR Pro(TM), guarantees no packet loss in limited bandwidth transmissions, ensuring that images will not exhibit the mosaic effect. Advanced network security functions, such as 802.1x and SSH, are also provided to prevent unauthorized access or data hijacking of surveillance video.

ONVIF COMPLIANT
The VPort P26A-1MP-T camera is ONVIF "Profile S" compliant for seamless integration with third-party software platform and NVR recording products.
