Lieberman ERPM and McAfee ePO integration provides access to privileged accounts only on an audited and delegated basis

(Los Angeles, CA – June 3, 2013) Lieberman Software Corporation today announced that its flagship Privileged Identity Management (PIM) product, Enterprise Random Password Manager™ (ERPM), is now McAfee Compatible. ERPM is the first PIM product capable of enabling secure check-in/check-out of privileged credentials directly from the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) web-based interface, providing identity and configuration data enrichment for McAfee ePO.

The McAfee ePO software is a management platform that integrates a range of security functions within an organization and allows users to configure each function through a single console. Lieberman Software’s ERPM is a PIM product that helps resolve the security and regulatory compliance problem of shared and default privileged account passwords. ERPM prevents unauthorized users and malicious programs from exploiting privileged accounts, and gaining unrestricted and anonymous access to systems with sensitive data.

Unique Value to ePO Customers
The integration between Lieberman ERPM and McAfee ePO provides access to powerful privileged accounts only on an audited and delegated basis. Approved McAfee ePO users are granted temporary access to privileged account credentials – such as administrator and root passwords – so that IT staff can rapidly configure and repair systems directly from the ePO interface. Passwords are automatically revoked immediately after the work performed by IT personnel is complete.

The integration also provides data enrichment by feeding information into McAfee ePO about each privileged account on the network that ERPM automatically locates and tracks. ERPM is the first PIM product integrated into ePO that is capable of enabling secure check-in/check-out of privileged credentials directly from the McAfee ePO web-based interface, allowing operators to efficiently manage the IT infrastructure through a single console.

For large enterprises – such as government, energy and financial organizations – this integration offers a solution to the security and regulatory compliance requirement that access to McAfee ePO credentials should only be allowed on a temporary, need-to-know-basis.

“With this integration, we not only provide a way to control sensitive McAfee ePO credentials,” said Philip Lieberman, President and CEO of Lieberman Software, “we also enrich the existing data in ePO for managed systems. In essence, we’re providing a solution through which ePO users can better manage more of the IT infrastructure, and more quickly retrieve privileged credentials in a fully secure and delegated manner.”
