iSmart Alarm, Inc. (iSmartAlarm.com) has announced that shipping has begun on their iSmartAlarm Home Security System. The iSmartAlarm system is designed to fill gaps in the home security space – specifically, provide a home security solution that is easily portable, easy to set up, requires no wiring, and gives the user the opportunity to design their system to fit their lifestyle. The system communicates with the user’s smartphone, giving unprecedented access to monitoring, system control, and statistics to increase the safety of home, property, and family.
There are no contracts, no monthly fees, and the system itself costs less than 6 months of monitored services from traditional monitoring services. After completion of their crowdfunding campaign, the company has spent the last 2 months finalizing manufacturing, testing, and solidifying a comprehensive roadmap for the company’s future.
The iSmartAlarm Indiegogo campaign ran from January through March, and ended at over 450% of the goal. In closing with over $226,000 raised by 1,600 contributors and customers, the iSmartAlarm Home Security System was a huge success and propelled the company forward. Owing to dedicated staff, family, friends, and contributors, the project has gone from idea to prototype to funding to manufacturing to shipping in just under a year.
“We’re proud to announce that shipping is underway and moving smoothly, and that we are able to deliver on our promise of providing a low-cost, mobile solution for renters and homeowners,” said Raymond Meng, Co-Founder and CEO. “We can now turn our attention to ensuring our customers have the best possible experience, and growing the company to take advantage of the smart home and home security space. The world, and technology within the world, is advancing fast, and home and family security must keep up.”
Accepting orders on the iSmartAlarm.com store, consumers are able to purchase packages including motion sensors, door and window sensors, home remote controls and panic alarms, the streaming and pan-tilt iCamera (controllable at any time, from anywhere, from the user's smartphone), as well as individual devices a la carte. As new devices are added, the user’s system will automatically update to include the new devices.
The catalyst for the iSmartAlarm system was an event that made national news - Steve Jobs’ home was broken into in mid-2012 while under construction, and over $60,000 worth of Apple products and personal belongings were stolen. The alarm had been deactivated because workers were constantly coming and going. The iSmartAlarm system provides the ability to integrate with the free iPhone App and allow the user to remotely arm, disarm, and monitor their security system from their cell phone, from anywhere, in real time.
With shipping now underway, the company is able to turn attention to new device development as well as international availability. The current goal is to have outdoor cameras, satellite sirens, home safety sensors, and pet tracking devices in place by the end of the calendar year. Android applications will be available by August. By January 2014, iSmart Alarm expects their system to be available in Europe, Australia, and additional international markets.
