Indianapolis, IN -- January 21, 2014 – infinias, an industry-leading provider of IP-based access control hardware and software, has launched the company’s new Mobile Credential. Mobile Credential extends the capabilities of an infinias access control solution to users’ smartphones—delivering enhanced security and convenient authorized access to designated doors at a facility.
infinias Mobile Credential provides complete access control functionality, allowing a user to present their credential via the network. Users are provided with, and can request access to just the doors for which they have authorized access. The credential is authenticated and the event documented by the infinias Intelli-M Access management software each time it is presented for use. If a mobile phone is lost, or an employee terminated, no access to the phone is required to immediately disable the credential.
“The use of infinias’ Mobile Credential adds a layer of security and flexibility for any organization,” said Wayne Jared, President of infinias. “Unlike cards and other access credentials, people tend to be much more aware of the location of their mobile phone than their traditional credential. If a phone goes missing, the owner is aware of it very quickly, while the loss of a proximity card could go unnoticed or unreported for days. With the ability of current smartphones to require a biometric, pin or gesture to unlock the phone, you effectively add a second layer of authentication to the credential.”
Both Android and iPhone platforms are supported by Mobile Credential; and the free mobile app can be easily downloaded onto a user’s phone. Mobile Credential integrates easily with infinias’ Intelli-M Access 4.0 software for seamless network-based communication and access control management.
infinias manufactures two discrete security-related technologies: infinias-branded IP access control solutions, and DIGIOP-branded video and data management solutions. The infinias product line features the industry's first-ever PoE door controller, and Intelli-M™ Access software—a highly scalable, easy-to-use, browser-based access control management application. The DIGIOP line includes a complete line of purpose-built network video recorders and FlexVR™ hybrid video recorders, along with the DIGIOP ELEMENTS™ video and data management software platform. Both solutions are highly scalable, supporting applications that range from small, single facilities, to globally distributed systems for multi-national enterprises. infinias is owned by Observint Technologies, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest and most diversified global alternative asset management firms.
