Corvallis, Oregon, March 01, 2014—CyberLock, Inc., a supplier of key-centric electronic access control systems, is proud to announce the release of its new CyberKey® smart key. The CyberKey Air is a Wi-Fi enabled, programmable smart key compatible with CyberLock® electronic cylinders and lets administrators monitor access event information in real-time.
The CyberKey Air can be programmed with lock access schedules and permissions for the key holder. The key contains a battery that energizes the electronics in the cylinder, eliminating the need for power or wiring at the lock and enabling access control and auditing capabilities at any location, including remote and mobile assets.
The Wi-Fi capabilities of the CyberKey Air allow real-time updating of schedules, permissions, and access events when the key is connected to an authorized Wi-Fi network.
“The two different approaches to access control, key-centric and lock-centric, now converge with the Wi-Fi enabled CyberKey Air. Most prox card type lock-centric systems, where power is needed at the lock, offer real-time updates, whereas with a key-centric system, like CyberLock, the power is provided by the key, enabling electronic access control to every lock, not just those suitable for an on-line system,” said James T. McGowan, VP of Sales and Marketing at CyberLock. “With Wi-Fi technology in a user key, real-time updates are now possible without the need for power or wiring at the lock. It's an extremely powerful access control solution.”
CyberLock, Inc. will be showcasing the CyberKey Air at the ISC West show in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 2-4, booth 19116.
