Medeco Maxum Residential Deadbolt

February 10, 2014, Salem, Va. –  In a testament to the brazenness of the criminal mindset, 66% of all residential burglaries that took place in the United States last year were forced-entry and most of the 1.5 million residential break-ins that occurred were executed through the front (34%) or rear (22%) doors!

“One in 63 American homes were burglarized last year. That’s a statistic that hits home in every sense imaginable!” said Brad Smith, Director of Marketing, Medeco.  “Installing a Medeco Maxum Deadbolt is among the most effective ways to ensure your home is in the safer statistical group.  For the price of an evening out, homeowners and renters can enjoy significantly higher confidence in the safety of their loved ones and property.  This is a simple, cost effective way to guarantee your first line of defense is your best!”

The Maxum Deadbolt, which weighs over twice the amount of a deadbolt found at a typical big box store, is amplified by the reinforced strike which screws all the way into the studs.  The Maxum Deadbolt exceeds Grade 1 ANSI/BHMA A156.36 standards for auxiliary locks with a solid brass, free turning collar and a ¼ inch diameter mounting bolts. Hardened steel inserts and rotating pins provide drill and pick resistance in accordance with UL437 standard for safety for key locks.

The bolt mechanism is designed to accommodate both mortise and drive-in applications, providing greater flexibility and ease of installation. Eight variations of finishes are available to provide an extremely close color match with existing hardware.  Medeco’s keys can only be duplicated with permission from a security professional, meaning the only point of entry is a direct attack through the Maxum Deadbolt, which is virtually impossible.
