BREA, CA, FEBRUARY 14, 2014 - Moxa, a leader in intelligent industrial networking solutions, is leveraging its extensive technological resources to introduce one of the world's first PoE+ Ethernet switches engineered to perform in harsh outdoor and industrial manufacturing environments, featuring 3KV LAN surge protection and a wide temperature range (-40°C to +75°C) that ensures the highest reliability of PoE systems while delivering network speeds of up to 1000 Mbps to eliminate bottlenecks.

Moxa's new EDS-P510A-8PoE Series are Gigabit managed PoE+ Ethernet switches equipped with 8 10/100BaseT(X), 802.3af (PoE), and 802.3at (PoE+)-compliant Ethernet ports, and 2 combo Gigabit Ethernet ports for uplinks for transmitting data up to 120 km with high EMI immunity.

PoE compliant network devices receive a maximum 30 watts of power per PoE+ port in standard mode, andhigh power output of up to 36 watts for greater compatibility with power hungry devices. The versatile switches can reliably be used with as weather-proof IP surveillance cameras with wipers/heaters, as well as wireless access points and bridges, or rugged IP phones, providing flexibility and ease of deployment to networks.

"Moxa PoE switches offer highly secure, scalable connectivity that passes both data and electrical power to devices in the type of harsh conditions that would severely damage a standard commercial-grade switch," said Todd Desso, Strategic Business Manager. "This is critical because every minute an employee has to wait - and every minute a network is down - has an adverse impact on your bottom line."

As managed switches, the Moxa EDS-P510A-8PoE Series offer many intelligent features to control traffic over the network. Ethernet switches support a variety of management functions, including STP/RSTP, TurboRing, Turbo Chain, PoE power management, PoE device auto-checking, PoE power scheduling, PoE diagnostic, IGMP, VLAN, QoS, RMON, bandwidth management, and port mirroring. At the same time, these switches are simple to deploy and configure, allowing users to take advantage of the managed network services they need.
