New key free push button and touchscreen deadbolts eliminate the cylinder so there’s no rekeying, no bumping

LAS VEGAS, April 1, 2014 – Yale Locks & Hardware today announced its next generation of key free Z-Wave® deadbolts with the introduction of new push button and touchscreen models.

The new Yale Real Living™ Key Free Push Button B1L and Key Free Touchscreen T1L Deadbolts offer streamlined installation, enhanced security, one button Z-Wave enrollment, a clean, modern appearance, and are competitively priced compared to competing electronic deadbolts.

The Yale key free deadbolts eliminate the cylinder and as a result offer homeowners superior security and integrators simplified installation. For homeowners, the elimination of the cylinder means that the lock can’t be picked or bumped. For installers, it means that installation is a much smoother process. By eliminating the key override, the new Yale locks appeal not only to security- and convenience-conscious homeowners, but also installers, since installation is easier and faster, especially since no keying is required.

Eliminating the cylinder also provides a clean appearance, and to enhance curb appeal the new keyless locks feature a sleek new design that is the smallest residential keypad for a Z-Wave lock. The push button version comes with a black push button keypad that illuminates when touched and is both easy to use and attractive. The touchscreen model features a durable black acrylic capacitive touchscreen that illuminates when touched.

The Key Free B1L and T1L boast the quality cues of Yale’s current lock line, including fully gasketed installation, ANSI/ BHMA grade 2 certification, motorized tapered deadbolts, and intuitive phone layout keypads. For additional homeowner peace of mind, ample warning is provided before the locks’ batteries lose power, and if connected to a home control system the system may generate “low battery” email or text alerts. Should the batteries drain, terminals on the bottom exterior of the lock accept a nine-volt battery, which provides enough power to enter the code and gain access.

"Our keyless locks demonstrate our commitment to product innovation, enhanced security and improved aesthetics," said Jason Williams, General Manager of Yale Residential. "They also show our commitment to the security dealer market by providing products that increase the dealer’s efficiency, help provide a better customer experience and deliver superior value."

Regardless of the security or home automation system employed, users have access to a high degree of functionality, including the ability to lock and unlock doors from web-enabled devices or create customized entry scenes for family members, neighbors and guests. The Z-Wave key free deadbolts integrate into a wide range of security and home control systems, including Alarm.com's emPower™, which supports 2GIG, Interlogix and Qolsys systems; Honeywell’s Total Connect; DSC; and the Vera Z-Wave home control system by Mi Casa Verde, among others. The locks will be available from leading industry wholesalers.
