St. Charles, IL (June 2, 2014) – System Sensor today announced the upcoming launch of the new FAAST XT line of aspirating smoke detectors, available in October 2014. The FAAST XT is an expanded coverage area air sampling smoke detector that uses four pipe inlets to draw air in from the protected space.
“With FAAST XT, we are able to cover larger spaces for all categories of smoke detection” says Stephen Lederer, System Sensor Senior Product Marketing Manager. “From Very Early Warning Fire Detection to Standard Fire Detection, FAAST XT brings all of the unique capabilities of FAAST to a broader range of applications.”
FAAST, originally introduced by System Sensor in 2010, uses two light source detection and advanced particle separation to enable high sensitivity, Very Early Warning Fire Detection, in mission critical applications, as well as in dirty environments often thought impossible for aspirating devices. FAAST also offers a wide range of intelligent devices, simplifying communication between aspirating devices and Fire Alarm Control Panels.
FAAST XT builds upon the FAAST platform and brings to the table a variety of new features:
- An LCD for easy status reading and device operations
- A USB connection for plug-and-play device configuration
- 3 speed user-adjustable fan
- Serial Modbus
- Ultra-sonic airflow sensing for each pipe inlet
“FAAST XT is the next big step for FAAST,” continues Mr. Lederer, “its wealth of communication options and new features, combined with core detection technologies that make FAAST so effective, really solidifies FAAST as the new standard in aspirating smoke detection.”
