The patent pending Etherstretch product line has been designed to offer a seamless migration from an analog CCTV system to megapixel IP technology while utilizing existing analog cabling.
Nitek’s multi-channel Etherstretch receivers have been engineered to be the industry’s first all-inclusive, self-contained IP over Coax receiver which incorporates 16 independent 100mbps IP over Coax links with a PoE+ Gigabit network switch. This design has proven to be a plug-and-play component when converting from analog to IP camera installations.
To add greater flexibility to network cabling schemes (2) SFP sockets can be found grouped with the LAN connections on the rear of the device. SFP transceivers are available with a variety of transmitter and receiver types, allowing users to select the appropriate transceiver for each link offering a dynamically adaptive solution no matter what cable type or distance.
To simplify the installation and offer advanced trouble shooting each unit is equipped with an embedded browser based software package. Enabling the Critical Systems Monitoring software within the unit, Etherstretch NEXTT has the capability to be accessed remotely or through a network connection to monitor power usage, link status and connection speeds by port. The ability to cycle power remotely by port and retrieve real-time data and statistics assist in identifying, alerting and responding if a network device appears to have communication issues.
Firmware can be found in almost any electronic device. Firmware just like software, is updated by manufacturers in order to keep it up to date and compliant or add functionality. Etherstretch NEXTT offers the unique abilities to upload firmware revisions onsite or remotely through the CSMS.
