Mundelein, IL- April 28, 2015 – The FlexPower® RS Series iSCAN (Supervision Control Access Notification) Networked Rackmount SmartPower system is an intelligent, networked-based device that features single or dual voltage, 8 or 16 outputs, in one device. Providing flexible application capabilities to the systems integrator with multiple managed outputs, iSCAN operates with 12/24VDC single or dual voltage. It’s designed specifically for the access control, security, CCTV and mass notification segments of the life safety industry and the new rack mount configuration provides additional installation possibilities, including data centers, control rooms or other limited footprint spaces.

The beauty of the flagship FlexPower iSCAN RS Series RM is in its intuitive network status and reporting capabilities. Those include: operational fault status; power supply output; battery charging voltage; battery charging current; and fire alarm input. In addition to the ability to automatically schedule regular status reports, the installer can complete diagnostic servicing and battery load tests remotely, saving the cost of on-site servicing. Other critical network-based features include:

  • The ability to monitor and report system integrity, battery health and individual output condition,
  • Remote diagnostic servicing of host power supply(s) and battery set,
  • Monitoring of DC output voltage/current, AC status, battery status, internal and external temperatures,
  • The capability to conduct remote battery load tests or power cycle output to reset devices,
  • Time/date stamp log reports on last 100 events, and
  • Email or SNMP communications notifications.

Multiple output options provide simple power distribution for auxiliary equipment power and controlled power distribution for lock and signaling control. A variety of other flexible output options are also available, including eight or 16 controlled, or eight controlled and eight distributed outputs, each fused at 3A and individually protected against electrical surges on external wiring caused by lightning or electrical transients.

The iSCAN RM specifically features:

  • 120VAC input or user-selectable 230VAC support for data center electrical systems,
  • Each input and output has dedicated two-terminal pair,
  • Direct power supply output terminals for flexibility,
  • High-capacity battery charging/independent charging circuit,
  • Automotive fuses for improved ease of service and removable faceplate for serviceability and,
  • Latching or non-latching fire alarm interface; remote reset capability, NO/NC, voltage or polarity reversal activation.
