Ranger American Security Systems makes name change

Houston, Texas-based Ranger American Security Systems, which has been an independent home security products provider for more than 20 years, is changing its name to ConnectOne.

In a statement issued by the company, owner and chairman Wayne Hayes said that name change was necessary to signify that home security isn’t the company’s sole focus any longer. In addition to residential security products, ConnectOne, which is the largest ADT authorized dealer in Texas, also offers various products and services to the commercial sector including telephone cabling and data, fire and sprinkler systems, water management products, controlled access and video and web interactive systems.

"A company doesn't change its name without considering what might be lost in the transition. We're proud of the reputation Ranger American has earned over the past 20 years and the dedicated customer base the company has maintained. As ConnectOne we want to be the one company consumers and businesses can trust to make their homes and businesses safer, more efficient, fun and future proof," Hayes said.
"While our core business for some time will remain security monitoring, our commercial, multi-housing and new technology divisions of the company will continue to see significant growth. We're looking for good people with expertise who can help ConnectOne expand in new markets and prosper."
