MELVILLE, N.Y., December 11, 2007 – Verint Systems Inc. today announced that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) will expand its deployment of Verint’s Nextiva™ Critical Infrastructure (CI) solution and integrated analytics to enhance passenger safety at all security checkpoints within LaGuardia and Newark Liberty International Airports.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey manages regional transportation infrastructure, including bridges, tunnels, airports, and seaports in the New York–New Jersey area. Over the past several years, PANYNJ has standardized on Verint’s video solutions and has deployed them across key facilities, including the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, the George Washington Bridge, the New Jersey PATH system and AirTrain JFK. PANYNJ will expand existing deployments of Verint’s Nextiva CI across all security checkpoints at LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport and enhance the effectiveness of these implementations with integrated video analytics. Nextiva Analytics Flow Control solution, designed specifically for crowded airport environments, will be deployed to enable PANYNJ personnel to detect persons walking in the wrong direction through a given secure area.

LaGuardia Airport served over 25 million passengers across 72 aircraft gates in 2006, while Newark Liberty International Airport is the fifth busiest international airport in the United States, serving approximately 36 million passengers in 2006. Nextiva CI and its directional flow video analytics will help airport security personnel proactively identify suspicious behavior and respond to threats in real-time, helping to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.

“Verint is extremely pleased to expand our relationship with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,” said Jim Clark, General Manager of Verint Video Intelligence Solutions. “As the leading provider of networked video solutions, Verint remains committed to delivering solutions that meet the unique demands and complex security challenges of airports, seaports and critical infrastructure facilities around the world.”
