IP video surveillance storage provider Intransa reports that a casino firm operating in Chile is upgrading its video surveillance to IP video. The company is apparently swapping some 2,500 video surveillance cameras in its multiple casinos over to an IP-based surveillance solution.

According to Intransa, the company's Enjoy's casino Coquimbo, Chile, has put a 500 camera system into an IP solution, and used 45 terabytes of Intransa's video storage for that project. The company reports that the second installation at Enjoy's casino in Pucon, Chile, is using a 200 camera system couple with 22.5TB of Intransa's IP storage. The company's networked video surveillance storage will be used for nine casinos in Chile as the company makes the switch.

The project is being handled by the integration firm Bitelco Diebold Chile, and is part of a design that allows the Enjoy Group of casinos and hospitality facilities to create a monitoring and investigation center centrally located that can cover the company's nine casinos.

"The complete IP Video system with IP storage provided by Intransa is performing extremely well," said Enjoy Group's manager of projects and systems Manuel Abella about the move to an IP-based solution. "We were particularly impressed with the video quality, the video search and analysis features and the efficient use of network bandwidth and storage."
