The Security Industry Association announced Thursday that U.S. General Services Administration Commissioner Jim Williams has been added to their list of keynote speakers for next month’s SIA 2008 Government Summit in Washington, D.C.

Williams is expected to give a presentation focusing on several areas, including the GSA’s Schedules Programs, HSPD-12 implementation, physical/IT security convergence opportunities and polices, the future of the acquisition workforce, GSA’s challenges in meeting the needs of its customers, and the application of the Trade Agreement Act.

Williams joins a list of speakers that already includes Hugo Teufel, chief privacy officer for the Department of Homeland Security, Rep. David Price (D-N.C.), chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, as well as political commentators Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson.

The summit will not only address federal and state legislation affecting the security industry, but it will also bring industry executives and government security officials together with policy experts for a discussion focusing on different government programs and initiatives that will impact the industry.
