Systems Integrator Sentinel Systems hosts education program on IP video

A strong end-user audience gets IP video training in an event hosted by systems integrator Sentinel Systems.

On Feb. 3, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah, new IP video surveillance integrator Sentinel Systems hosted a very successful event geared towards educating the end-user market in Salt Lake City. Randy Bathemess, president of Sentinel, invited specific strategic partners to give presentations during the event, which was targeted for end-users. The lineup of speakers included Mark Baxter from Intransa, Austin Barbee from IQinvision, CEO Scott Sereboff from Veracity, CEO Thomas Carnevale from Sentry 360 Security, and JDS CEO Joe Marchese and JDS V.P. of Business Development Scott Little.

The speakers gave compelling technology discussions. Veracity discussed migration from analog to IP and how to utilize existing coaxial cable for megapixel technology. Sentry 360 discussed securing environments by optimizing a 360-degree camera to reduce camera counts and infrastructure costs. JDS demonstrated its new video wall product and enterprise network video recording solutions.

The final attendance count was over 110 end-users representing state hospitals, county sheriff departments, Utah Transit Authority and several other state agencies. An event like this is evidence of the value of regional educational seminars and that end-users are very interested in learning more about IP video surveillance even in difficult economic times. As a result of the success in Salt Lake several of the presenters are now planning a similar event this summer in Chicago.
