Indianapolis, IN – June 15, 2007 – Stanley Security Solutions, Inc., a provider of integrated access control and security solutions, today announced the release of the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator for entrances and automatic door applications. In addition to enhancing flexibility by incorporating a variety of accessibility applications, the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator was designed to be in strict compliance with the directives of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), mandating that public buildings and businesses provide access for all Americans.

"The D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator combines Stanley Security Solutions' extensive automatic operator technologies with the dependable performance found in all of our products," said Mike McCoy, product manager for Stanley Precision Hardware. "The D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator is one more example of Stanley Security Solutions' continued commitment to meet today’s architectural hardware needs by providing a complete spectrum of products."

The D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator combines the dependable power of a Stanley Access Technology’s motorized opener with the efficient mechanical function of the Stanley® D-4550 heavy-duty door closer. Even without electrical power or power failure, the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator is fully operational. Furthermore, the patent-pending coupling action allows the door closer to work independent of the motor. As a result, the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator eliminates the excessive push/pull force typically required for most operators. In addition to being available in a variety of electronic actuators, the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator includes the following features:

• Access Control Compatibility – exit devices or electric strikes

• Operator Activation – auto-open sequence is compatible with virtually any form of ADA compliant switch

• Push and Go Option – field selectable switch initiates automatic opening sequence during manual operation

• Hold Open Timer – field selectable option provides hold-open for up to 25 seconds after signal activation

• External Function Switch – provides continuous hold-open

• Obstruction Detection – continuous monitoring of the opening provides obstruction detection, eliminating personal injury and damage to the surrounding structure

• Power-Close Option – field selectable option, accommodates openings that require additional closing force to overcome interior stack pressures, weather stripping, etc.

• Optional Internal Power Supply – A 12 or 24 VDC power supply is available within the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator to power electric strikes

In addition to meeting ADA ease of accessibility requirements, the D-4990 Low Energy Power Operator has received the following listings and certifications:

• UL Listed for fire and smoke check doors
