VEREX Launches Latest Version of Its Director Software

Version 4.61 released for software that manages VEREX MONITORxL, MONITOR ISM, and NetVision

MIAMI, Fla., Americas Fire & Security Expo, July 18, 2006 — VEREX announced today the launch of Director 4.61, the latest version of software that manages all of VEREX's current integrated security products such as MONITORxL, MONITOR ISM, and NetVision. Director 4.61 will provide numerous enhancements to the current software including the creation of detailed system audit reports, enhanced operator password security and an increased panel capacity from 60 panels per account to 100. VEREX is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Additional features include the ability to more easily assign authority to an authority group, an increased number of graphic user interface licenses, a customizable message window at Login, and the addition of German and Italian to the list of languages supported by Director. Other languages already supported by the software are English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Slovakian, Hungarian and Russian.
