Fargo HDP5000 card identity system

HID Global's Fargo HDP5000 card identity system includes the hardware, software and materials needed to create secure, professional ID cards with superior print quality using retransfer technology. At the heart of the system is the Fargo HDP5000 card printer/encoder, based on patented High Definition Printing technology. By printing a reverse image on the underside of HDP Film, then fusing the film to the card surface, the printer creates an image that looks more like a crisp glossy photo than an ordinary ID badge. Because the printhead never comes into contact with the card surface, the image quality is never compromised by surface or embedded electronics. Likewise, the smart chips or antennas are unaffected by the heat of the printhead. The system's modular design enables users to add components as needed. An optional encoding module provides up to three different encoding technologies to add functionality to cards.
