Company's ST8 security system named a finalist for best security product award

St. Paul, Minn. - February 6, 2009 – Sequel Technologies, Inc. is a finalist for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards in the Best Security Product category. The award, presented by CEA’s TechHome Division, recognizes Sequel’s ST8 security system with Ethernet module for outstanding achievement and innovation in trend setting custom home electronics technology and products. Award entries were reviewed by a panel of industry experts.

With four patents pending, the ST8 is an advanced full-featured hybrid security system. Equipped with the Ethernet Interface Module (EIM), it establishes itself on any network with a unique IP address allowing an easy path to interface with other IP-based systems. As an example, the Sequel Technologies EIM integrates any Sequel security system with any Crestron 2-Series control system at a native level using Crestron IP Communication (CIP).

"CEA is the most important consumer electronics organization in the world, so it's a great honor to be recognized by them," said Sequel president Duane Paulson. "The award marks a significant milestone for Sequel. We made a substantial investment in building a security product that makes sense for our target market, the independent security dealer and systems integrator. It appears our efforts have been validated."

Finalists will be recognized and winners announced at the Mark of Excellence Awards Dinner on Friday, March 13 at the Rosen Center Hotel in conjunction with the tenth annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2009, in Orlando, Florida.
