Ramsey, NJ – November 13, 2019, Share911, a leading security technology company that offers collaborative communication solutions that keep people safe at work, today announced that the company’s software platform is now available to independent and charter school districts and their public safety agency partners in six Texas counties. The Share911 communication software platform has been unveiled in Bexar, Dallas, El Paso, Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery counties with current deployments in three Texas school districts. The company made the decision to expand into the Texas region due to the increase of active shooter incidents occurring at TX schools over the last few years. Due to these occurrences, the State of Texas recently announced the 2019-2021 School Safety & Security Grant that provides TX school districts with eligible funds to invest in active shooter alarm systems. Share911 wanted to reinforce the state’s safety efforts and now offers a BuyBoard Contract 567-18, which provides eligible districts in Texas a discounted rate on the Share911 software.

Texas City ISD (TCISD), Bridge City ISD, and Boyd ISD are the first districts in Texas to deploy Share911’s collaborative communication software platform. Currently, TCISD has 1400 employees and 9200 students enrolled and encompasses 14 schools within 11 campuses, with 3 brand new schools being rebuilt after Hurricane Harvey. “We believe the most effective solution in any crisis is having the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with all of our stakeholders. Share 911 allows us to do this seamlessly,”  states Michael A. Matranga, Executive Director of Security & School Safety at TCISD. “Their willingness to listen to our feedback and make adjustments based upon our needs is unmatched. This is a fully customizable solution to a very serious situation we all face,” says Matranga. Since Share911’s implementation in July 2019,  TCISD has conducted multiple drills which have resulted in improved response times from staff members. It is crucial for schools today to have a clearer site picture during a crisis; as it allows them to make better decisions which in return saves lives.  Click here to view a video on how TCISD worked together with Share911 to improve school safety.

The recent enacted Texas Senate Bill 11 mandates that school district employees have a way to immediately alert district emergency services, security, and law enforcement personnel when they see danger, but some believe it does not go far enough. “While the bill suggests a telephone in a classroom could suffice, we believe that continued reliance on yesterdays, outdated, one-to-one communication is not enough,” states Erik Endress,  CEO at Share911. “If people don’t know that they are in danger and where that danger is occurring, people can get hurt or killed no matter how quickly law enforcement arrives. Share911 is making significant strides in helping to empower 911 operators and law enforcement officers to issue a lockdown to school employees immediately upon notification of an emergency event,” says Endress.  In addition to helping schools, Share911 is now offering the critical communication software solution free to any public safety agency to help empower 911 operators and law enforcement officers.

Share911’s core mission is to improve the efficiency of communication during critical events.  The company has dedicated its efforts to protecting over 750,000 people nationwide and its software solution has been deployed in 4,000 workplaces within 25 states.  Share911 will also be exhibiting at the upcoming ISC East show in NYC on November 20th and 21st where attendees can view live product demonstrations at booth #1449.  The company’s customer centric philosophy continues to drive its success in improving communication efficiency for schools and businesses now and in the future.
