In a statement, Shred-it said that the acquisition of Canada-based Super Shred, which primarily serves the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with operations in Cambridge and Ottawa, will help expand the company’s presence in key markets.
"This acquisition supports our corporate growth strategy, and will significantly enhance our presence and density in key Canadian markets including the GTA, Cambridge and Ottawa,” Shred-it President and CEO Vince De Palma said in the statement.
The acquisition, which was effective as of Sept. 11, applies to all of Super Shred's operations. The company will continue to operate from its existing location near Toronto Pearson Airport, and will represent Shred-it's third branch in the GTA.
De Palma said that Shred-it, which has completed 18 acquisitions over the last two years, will continue to look to acquire companies that can help the company grow.
"Acquisitions will continue to play an important role in Shred-it's strategic plans complementing organic growth and further enhancing our market position as a global leader providing document destruction services," De Palma said.
