Corporate Leaders Respond to Demand for Security by Creating Electronic Security Council

ESC and Unisys hosted security conference with over 100 participants in June

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In response to the challenges and increasing demand for physical and technological security the Electronic Security Council (ESC) and Unisys hosted a conference on "Logical, Physical and Electronic Security" Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington .D.C.

"As the recent rash of data breaches has shown, the need for physical security is greater than ever," Congressman Davis said. "Innovative solutions like those discussed at the conference are certainly a big part of the answer to the challenge of keeping sensitive facilities and information secure." Said Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA).

Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ) issued the following statement about the ESC conference "You are truly leading the way to greater security for personal data, financial information, and more. In short, you are on the cutting edge of what our country needs to keep the homeland secure."

Delighted by the turnout Mr. Jorge Lozano, Chairman of the ESC said "The new technological weapons of the 21st century against terrorism that were displayed at the conference along with the wisdom shared by the many speakers provides, not only a path to defeat the faceless enemy, but it also unites the American Enterprise by working together among small and large businesses in partnership with the Government. The Security Industry in my view is the virtual soldier providing its technology to secure the Borders and assist the DHS, DOD, Army and Navy among other Agencies that will need these tools to confront and continue the journey for a safer and secure America."

Experts in the industry and government shared their insights on the future of logical, physical, electronic, and IT security, implementation, force protection, personal security solutions and security devices to including smart cards and their applications.

"The Logical, Physical and Electronic Security Conference" has helped the government understand what the small businesses have to offer and small business better understand the government needs to protect America in the 21st Century" said Joe Arcade, Executive Director of the Electronic Security Council.

Panelists discussed current technologies and security systems, testing, and evaluation, validation and verification and regulations as they related to HSPD 12, FIPS 201 and other current regulations, compliance, acceptance, integration and secure border initiative issues.

The event was specifically designed to provide information on new and upcoming government security and border initiatives, and teaming opportunities with major security industry companies that are focused on fostering small and minority businesses.

The conference included an exhibit hall with over 20 federal agencies and security companies showcasing some of their latest security solutions, technologies, systems and equipment. Overall the conference and exhibits provided a perfect opportunity for vendors to showcase their products to federal and private sector decision makers.
