SANFORD, Fla., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- High Rise Escape Systems, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated the company's primary products, the Guardian and Responder emergency evacuation systems, as "Qualified Anti-terrorism technologies". The goal of the 2002 SAFETY Act is to encourage the development and deployment of new and innovative anti-terrorism products and services by providing liability protections. The designation recognizes that High Rise's products have successfully met the requirements of the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002, also known as the "SAFETY Act". High Rise Escape Systems, Inc. is the first company in the United States that provides supplemental evacuation to be certified under the Safety Act.
