IAPSC Holds Annual Conference

Professional security consultants report back on springtime annual meeting

Des Moines, Iowa – The International Association of Professional Security Consultants met in Jacksonville, Florida in late April/early May for its 23rdAnnual Conference and General Membership Meeting.

This year's annual conference, entitled "Being Connected-Staying Connected" attracted many leading experts in the area of security for both the public and private sectors. Key topics included discussions on Forensics, Marketing, Sales and Terrorism Threats & Solutions. Superintendent Brett Lovegrove, Head of Counter Terrorism, City of London Police was the Keynote Speaker.

Awards Presented:

Robert Murphy, CPP, of Notre Dame, Ind., was awarded the Meritorious Life Member Award. Robert was chosen for this award due to his exceptional leadership skills and long-term dedication to the IAPSC.

Steven Lasky, of Cumming, Ga., was selected as the 11th recipient of the Charles A. Sennewald Accolade Award for his outstanding service to the security profession. IAPSC established the award in 1993 to honor a security executive, educator, author, or industry leader who has made an outstanding and significant contribution to the security profession.

The IAPSC is the premiere association of non-product affiliated, private security consultants specializing in all aspects of security consulting. Organized in late 1984, the IAPSC is a professional society dedicated to the advancement of the security consulting profession. Through its referral service, the IAPSC provides security consulting services to consumers and businesses in need. Members of the IAPSC meet strict educational, professional experience and ethical requirements, ensuring that they represent the highest standards within the industry.
