Long-time security technology and applications specialist Bill Newill has been named president of the recently launched Baran Access Solutions. He will oversee the new company’s enterprise-wide efforts to manufacture and deliver access control solutions for the growing North America market.
One of Newill’s first priorities will be to establish a top-notch team to identify key markets and build a solid customer base for its leading-edge access control products, which include Everswitch single-door keypads and controllers, contactless smart card readers, proximity readers and magstripe readers.
With more than 20 years’ experience managing manufacturing organizations and large system integrators, Newill’s knowledge of access control, security systems and RFID technology is renowned throughout the industry. Newill began his career with E.I. DuPont and NSA before running his own company for 5 years, and finally joining the security industry. Prior to joining Baran Access Solutions, he spent 7 years at one of the industry’s most widely recognized manufacturers of readers and cards/tags while at the same time developing a new RFID business division for the company.
Baran Access Solutions will reposition the familiar Barantec family of products to concentrate on access control solutions for commercial customers. Because the company is a subsidiary of Baran Advanced Technologies Ltd. and engineering giant the Baran Group, Newill’s hiring represents a powerful union of a global technology leader and one of the security industry’s most highly regarded security and RFID technology experts.
