Conference Recap: The 21st IAPSC Annual Conference

Security consultants held conference in Maryland, with discussions on new terror-charged world

The International Association of Professional Security Consultants met in Annapolis, Maryland in May for its 21st Annual Conference and General Membership Meeting.

This year's annual conference, titled "Security Consulting in a Threat and Risk World" attracted many leading experts in the area of Terrorism. Dennis Pluchinsky, senior threat analyst at TranSecur Inc., gave "A Global Threat Overview". Dr. Jerrold Post, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Political Psychology Program at George Washington University spoke on "What Motivates Terrorists to Act". Other topics included discussions on strategic planning and how to manage the media in times of crisis. Dr. Elie Krakowski, founder and president of EDK Consulting Inc., was the keynote speaker. Krakowski is a frequent guest and commentator on national radio and television programs.

As part of the annual conference, Robert Shellow, PhD, of Bethesda, Md., was awarded the IAPSC's Meritorious Life Member Award. Shellow was chosen for this award due to his exceptional leadership skills and long-term dedication to the IAPSC.
