Mr. Jin Kim is a widely regarded Subject Matter Expert and Material Practitioner in Active Shooter and Workplace Violence Risk Management. Mr. Kim retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2018 and is a twenty-three-year veteran of the FBI’s New York Division. He served as the Active Shooter Coordinator on the Crisis Management Unit and was the leading authority directing active shooter and workplace violence risk mitigation for the FBI’s corporate programming and private sector partnerships.


Brian Harrell

Mr. Harrell is a national security subject matter expert, with particular focus on critical infrastructure in the energy sector and cybersecurity. In 2018, Mr. Harrell was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as the sixth Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was also the first Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). He also served at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) where he was charged with helping protect North America's electric grid from physical and cyber-attack.

Mr. Harrell has also spent time during his career in the US Marine Corps and various private sector agencies with the goal of protecting the United States from security threats.

Brian currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Security Officer (CSO) at AVANGRID.


Matthew Dimmick

Mr. Dimmick is a Security and Emergency Readiness Professional with almost 30 years of experience. He was a responding Police Officer to the 2001 Fort Dix Shooting and a 9/11 responder and recovery worker in New York City. He brings extensive domestic and international experience in the development, design, implementation, and management of programs involving all aspects of security and crisis management. Mr. Dimmick currently provides physical and cybersecurity consulting services, often serving as an embedded owner’s representative for clients overseeing new technology testing, procurement, and implementation. He is board certified in Security Management and Physical Security, earned the CPTED Professional Designation (CPD), and is CompTIA Network+ CE and Security+ certified.


Joe Byron

Joe is a New Hampshire native and has a consultative approach to educating with his background in all aspects of video and IoT technology. He has an 18-year career in the physical security industry backed by 12 years in the broadcast television production space. Joe is a 1992 graduate of ORU in Tulsa, OK and holds a B.S. degree in telecommunications with a minor in business administration. In 2015, Joe also received his Cisco CCNA certification. Joe brings a passion for life safety to his role at Shooter Detection Systems where he is responsible for revenue growth and oversees all aspects of the company’s channel partners including security integrators, technology manufacturers, and the A&E and consultant community.
