BOSTON -- New Bedford high school is beefing up security Friday amid growing fears of violence.
The Standard Times reported that the move follows a disturbance on Monday which involved about 30 students and resulted in three arrests.
That incident was triggered by the deadly shooting of a city teen at a New Year's house party, police said.
School officials stressed that no weapons were found during this week's altercation.
The stepped up security is expected to include a significant police presence Friday morning.
