Trayte to serve as vice president for strategic development at surveillance and monitoring firm

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, Nov. 28, 2006 — Westec InterActive, the leader in intelligent business solutions that improve operations and profits by using digital surveillance and monitoring services, today announced security industry veteran Rollie Trayte has joined the company as Vice President, Strategic Development.

In this position, Trayte will be responsible for developing customized security and operations improvement programs for the convenience store, petroleum, retail and specialty retail and quick-serve market segments.

Trayte has more than 30 years experience in law enforcement and retail security. While at Conoco Phillips, Trayte's forward-thinking actions changed the face of security in the convenience store and quick serve business. Trayte began using new technologies, such as Westec's interactive security, to dramatically improve security and safety at Circle K stores across the country. As director of loss prevention and security for Circle K, Trayte was responsible for more than 2500 company-operated stores and nearly 17,000 branded retail/wholesale locations.

Ten years ago, while at Circle K, Trayte became one of Westec's first customers when he installed 100 interactive security systems at Circle K locations on the West Coast.

"Rollie Trayte's first-hand experience with Westec and his extensive industry experience gives our customers the kind of strategic perspective that quickly impacts their bottom line," said Gerald T. Vento, Westec InterActive Chairman and owner. "We are pleased to welcome Rollie to this side of the team."

A graduate of Dennison University in Ohio, Trayte is a frequent contributor to industry magazines and regularly speaks at retail security and loss prevention events. He is also active in his community, sharing his crime prevention knowledge with a shelter for domestic violence victims and implementing a version of the "crime-stoppers' program he developed in Ohio.
