SAN ANTONIO -- MDI, Inc., a recognized leader in delivering open integrated access control, alarm management and video security solutions, today announced that MDI Security System's award-winning SAFEnet Open Systems Integration (OSI) Platform has been deployed by OneSystems Technologies Pte Ltd to serve as the centralized command and control, video and access management application for Singapore's 2005 historic National Day Parade (NDP).
This year's celebration marks 40 years of nation-building in the history of Singapore as an independent sovereign nation. NDP is organized and chaired by Commander 3rd Division, BG Loh Wai Keong, in cooperation with various national agencies and will showcase the precision and discipline of a military-style parade. The 21 contingents this year are formed by organizations representing the five pillars of Total Defense (Military, Civil, Economic, Social and Psychological) including the Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defense Force and uniform groups from schools, private sectors and grassroots organizations. The five pillars work together as part of a comprehensive strategy to safeguard Singapore's national security and are represented by 2,293 parade participants. They bring together all Singaporeans to defend the country against any kind of threat whether it is security, economic or social.
"After testing and evaluating several security systems in the market, we chose MDI's SAFEnet integrated security platform based on its open and scalable architecture and ease of integration for this mission-critical project," stated Eunice Hong, Chief Executive Officer of OneSystems Technologies Pte Ltd. "The Army's Operators have made it a point to exclaim how intuitive the graphics are and how crisp the images look," added Ms. Hong.
OneSystems Technologies, in partnership with MDI Security Systems, was tasked with designing and implementing the NDP perimeter security and surveillance solution. This centralized security operations center provides the Singapore Armed Forces Command and Control Group with geographical visibility and situational awareness across select NDP events in real-time. The SAFEnet(R) open architecture enabled OneSystems to deploy and integrate numerous remote video server locations with multiple IP and leased line connections, channel-enabled intelligent video and motion analysis, centrally accessed alarm and event video recordings, wireless monitoring and video broadcasting to the Singapore Army's command posts.
"The presence of Singapore's President S R Nathan, as well as the upper echelon of Singapore's Army, Navy, Air Force, Police Force and civilian contingents enhanced our requirement for the highest level of security and situational awareness," stated the Chief Defense Officer, BG Loh Wai Keong.
This event marks the launch of a partnership between OneSystems and MDI in providing security solutions in Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia.
"We are proud of the work our teams performed together and look forward to the energetic and successful distribution and support of our products throughout Asia in partnership with OneSystems," noted Robert Schorr, Senior Vice President of Sales for MDI.
