Sports and entertainment venues are attracting huge crowds again and patrons are eager to return to stadiums and concert venues. This is good news for venue operators and puts additional emphasis on the need to create a safe environment for patrons. In order to do so, preparing for a variety of potential security threats, from stampedes, brawls and fan interference, to bombings, shootings, and drone attacks is the new normal. Given the fact that violent crimes have increased in many major cities, spectators and fans are increasingly looking for reassurance that they’re going to be safe when they go out to venues.

Hayes, Jr. is a 20-year veteran of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and since his retirement, has provided his security expertise and guidance in the private sector.As vice president of Sports and Entertainment at Guidepost Solutions, Mr. Hayes is responsible for building the Sports and Entertainment practice and maintaining relationships with current clients including the NFL, NBA, San Francisco 49ers, Notre Dame, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, University of Phoenix Stadium, and the NCAA, among others.Formerly vice president of financial crimes compliance for First Data Corporation, Mr. Hayes was responsible for the development, implementation and execution of financial crimes compliance programs, including leadership of Anti-Money Laundering Investigations (AML) programs.Mr. Hayes has an extensive background in Federal law enforcement and executive management. He previously served as the Special Agent in Charge for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York office, where he was responsible for the management of HSI’s largest investigative field office. Mr. Hayes led numerous high-profile criminal investigations resulting in the prosecution of sensitive, complex criminal investigations targeting terrorism, money laundering, racketeering, child exploitation, narcotics trafficking, human smuggling and trafficking, and intellectual property violations.Mr. Hayes also led Homeland Security’s efforts to work with sports leagues, franchises and entertainment companies to safeguard their intellectual property rights, protect their brands and enhance security management.Mr. Hayes began his career as a United States Border Patrol Agent in Del Rio, Texas.

Joe Coomer serves as the vice president of security for AMB Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE) and oversees security for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He is responsible for the security and public safety elements of guests attending events at the stadium, day-to-day security operations, the strategic planning of mega-events hosted at the stadium, managing medical services, and overseeing law enforcement and implementation of the NFL Best Practices and the NFL Code of Fan Conduct. Before joining AMB Sports & Entertainment as director of MBS security in 2015, Coomer was the director of security & services at the University of Phoenix Stadium from 2008 to 2015. Most recently he was the Co-Incident Commander at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the FEMA Community Vaccination Center at Mercedes-Benz Stadium that administered 300k shots to the Atlanta community in the spring of 2021. He has also accomplished spearheading the DHS Safety Act protection for both the University of Phoenix Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
